In recent days, images of the lush, tranquil meadows of Ta Xua (Bac Yen district, Son La province), with undulating mountains and white clouds, have been widely shared on social media.

Despite not being in the peak tourist season, Ta Xua is still a favorite destination for young travelers looking to escape the sweltering heat and enjoy the verdant meadows.

According to Diep Huu Dat, 25, a tour guide from Son La, the meadow that's been trending recently is located in Ban Tro A, Ta Xua commune, about 12km from the commune center. "The road leading to this meadow is quite nice and easy to travel on, though a bit steep. If you're not confident in your driving skills, it's advisable to hire a local motorbike taxi."

Ta Xua is a highland commune, with an average altitude of 1,500 - 2,000 meters above sea level. In July, the weather in the meadows is often sunny, the sky clear, the grass lush, and a sea of clouds appears in the early morning. "Daytime temperatures range from 20 - 25 degrees Celsius, making it cool and pleasant. At night and early morning, it can get chilly," Dat shared.

Ta Xua Meadows is located along the same route as the Dolphin Peak and Lonely Tree - two famous check-in spots. Near Dolphin Peak, visitors will see a sign pointing to Ta Xua Meadows. This is a vast area, not only ideal for admiring nature's beauty but also perfect for recreation, sports, and camping.

Tourist Ta Thi Thuy (24, from Hanoi) recently had a "healing" summer trip to Ta Xua. Thuy shared that her first visit to Ta Xua was in winter 2020 on a tour. By the end of 2022, Thuy returned and spent a year working in Ta Xua.

"I've traveled to many places across Vietnam, but for me, Ta Xua remains the ultimate healing destination with its cool, fresh air. There are days when I wake up to see a sea of clouds surrounding the mountains, as beautiful as a fairyland.

Even in summer, visitors need to wear warm clothes and light bonfires at night. This season, it is less crowded, so services are cheaper, and the spots are quieter and more peaceful. For over 1 million VND, you can enjoy a satisfying 2-day, 1-night trip to Ta Xua," Thuy shared.

Van Anh, a student from Hanoi, shared that Ta Xua has its unique beauty each season. However, if visiting in winter, it can be very cold with thick fog, making travel more difficult. In summer, mornings and nights are still cool and windy, but the daytime is clear and sunny.

"Ta Xua is a perfect summer escape for those with modest finances like me," Van Anh said.

From Hanoi, travelers can reach Ta Xua by limousine bus for 600,000 VND per round trip. This mode of transport saves time as there is no need for transfer. Upon arrival in Ta Xua, travelers can rent motorbikes for 150,000 - 200,000 VND per day to conveniently visit various spots.

Currently, Ta Xua has many cafes with beautiful views that are popular among young people. Besides the meadows, visitors can explore other natural attractions such as Xim Vang terraced fields, Ban Coffee, Khung Long waterfall in Hang Dong commune, Lonely Tree, and Dolphin Peak.

Thuy noted that this season, visitors to Ta Xua can also experience stream bathing and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).

Visitors should note that dining services in Ta Xua are not very developed. Local specialties include roast duck, stir-fried buffalo with bamboo shoots, black chicken hotpot, sturgeon hotpot, and fish salad. Additionally, travelers should check weather information carefully before their trip.
