Ly Hoang Nam could not surprise No 6 seed Takahashi Yusuke of Japan at the VN Men’s Futures F4 tennis tournament in Binh Duong Province.

The Vietnamese player was defeated 6-2, 6-1 yesterday in the second round match.

He was the final Vietnamese player in the singles event.

Nam will continue playing today in the doubles class. He has been paired with Chinese Bowen Ouyang as No 3 seed and will meet Joel Cannel and Vikram Hundal, a mixed pair from England and the US, in the quarter-finals.

His teammates, Nguyen Van Phuong and Trinh Linh Giang, will face Imai Shintaro and Ito Yuichi of Japan.
