Lý Hoàng Nam has qualified for the final of the men’s singles category of the Thailand F3 Futures tennis tournament on Friday.

Nam, world No 529, beat 22-year-old Jeremy Beale of Australia, world No 615, 6-2, 2-0 (Beale retired) in the semi-final.

The Tây Ninh-born player will face No 2 seed Yannick Jankovits of France in the final.

The 30-year-old Jankovits, world No 414, beat Sidharth Rawat of India 6-4, 6-0 in the other semi-final match.

With this result, Nam is expected to enter the world’s top 500 for the first time.
