Top tennis star Ly Hoang Nam has continued his good run reaching the quarterfinals of the singles competition at the Vietnam Men’s Futures F9 tennis tournament, spanking rival Trinh Linh Giang 2-0.

In the first set, Nam, who is ranked No. 629 in the world, easily defeated Linh 6-2, 6-1 in just one hour and 11 minutes of play.

The good result helped Nam earn two points, inching closer to the world’s top 600.

In the next match, Nam will face off on November 4 with world No. 714 Couacaud Enzo of France.

The 21-year-old French player ranked No. 206 in the world last year.
