Overseas Vietnamese Daniel Nguyen, world No 445, also reached to the second round after beating Alen Rogic Hadzalic of Croatia (No 1086) 2-0 (6-3, 6-1).

Earlier, Nguyen Dac Tien was ousted after losing to Sidharth Rawat of India, world No 522, 0-2 (5-7, 2-6).

The event, which has a total prize of US$25,000, will last until October 6.
