Nguyen The Nghiep is separated from his family after birth

In recent days, Nguyen The Nghiep (born 1987, Thu Lam commune, Hanoi) has been constantly checking social media after posting information seeking help to find his biological family, from whom he was separated shortly after birth.

Nguyen Thi Tinh (78, Thu Lam commune) recalled that between 5.0 and 6.0 PM one afternoon in 1986, while visiting a sick relative at a hospital, she saw a man carrying a newborn baby wrapped in a small blanket. The man brought the baby into the pediatric ward, handed him to medical staff, and quickly left.

Out of curiosity, she followed and later saw that the baby was a boy.

Tình said: "After that, I returned to the village and told this story to a friend. Since she had no children, she went to the hospital to adopt the baby."

The family that adopted the baby was the couple Nguyen The Tinh (born in 1951) and Tran Thi Sam (born in 1953). Tinh confirmed that after being told about the abandoned newborn boy, his wife intended to take him as an adopted son.

"About 2 months later, my wife and Nguyen Thi Tinh went to the hospital, completed the adoption procedures for the child, and brought him home. My family made a birth certificate for the baby with the name Nguyen The Nghiep, setting the birth year as 1987 instead of 1986.

When adopting Nghiep, my family completed procedures and paperwork according to regulations to register him in the household residency. However, as decades have passed, the adoption papers for Nghiep are no longer available," The Tinh stated.

Despite having an adopted child previously, The Tinh and his wife still cared for Nghiep like their biological son. He grew up in love and received a full education.

At the age of 10, he was told by his adoptive parents that he was not their biological child. Because he was young and well-loved, that information did not make him feel sad.

However, as he grew older, he became more curious about the reason he was abandoned. The question of why his parents left him right at birth caused him pain.

“I was so hurt that I once hated and held a grudge against the people who gave birth to me. But as I matured, my perspective shifted. I believe my parents must have had a reason or a special circumstance to do such a heartbreaking thing.

Therefore, I am no longer angry at those who gave birth to me. Instead, I only wish to find my biological parents and family to know my roots,” he confessed.

Wishing for a miracle

Knowing that his adopted son wished to find his biological family, The Tinh was not sad or opposed. Instead, he and his wife created conditions and encouraged their son to search.

With the support of his adoptive parents, for many years, Nghiep has tried to find his biological family. He went to the hospital where he was once cared for in hopes of learning about his origins.

However, he did not receive any further information about his biological parents.

Longing to find his relatives, he once made flyers and posted them around hospitals and many other locations in Hanoi. He briefly recounted being abandoned, hoping anyone with information would contact him.

Recently, Nghiep posted his story on social media groups dedicated to finding lost relatives. He also contacted and asked individuals, organizations, and missing person search programs for support in finding his biological parents.

But because there is so little information, he has yet to receive positive results. He shared: “Everyone has roots, and so do I. I want to know who my parents are, where they are, whether they are alive or have passed away.

If I am lucky enough to find them, I won't care about the reason why I was abandoned; I will happily accept it. If unfortunately my parents have passed away, I also hope to know where they rest so I can come to light incense in their memory.

Over the past many years, I have tried to search for my biological family in many ways, but there have been no results. This makes me very sad, and sometimes desperate.

Even so, I will not give up. I really hope the community will support me, helping me create a miracle to find the biological relatives lost for nearly 40 years.”
