Young defender Nguyen Van Manh of Song Lam Nghe An moves to Dong Nai under a one-year contract.

The defender failed to find a berth in his Song Lam Nghe An FC, after three years of sharpening his skills in the first division and playing with the U23 team during the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea.

Manh joined his new club's training course on February 12.

Dong Nai, who were relegated after the 2015 season, will have a two-week practice in Da Lat and Vung Tau before organising a friendly event ahead of the start of the first division on April 9.

Saigon Heat beat Pilipinas

Saigon Heat defeated hosts Pilipinas MX3 Kings 84-80 in the last 2016 ASEAN Basketball League play-off at Malolos Sports and Convention Centre in Malolos, the Philippines, on February 7.

Lenny Daniel dominated the game for the Heat with 29 points, 16 rebounds and three assists, playing all 40 minutes and shooting 14 of 21 from the field. Moses Morgan added 22 points and five rebounds, while Paul Williams and David Arnold added 13 points apiece.

The Heat avenged their last loss to the Kings by eliminating them from the race for the top four positions.

Saigon Heat will next play Thailand's Mono Vampire Basketball Club at Sripatum University Stadium in Bangkok on February 13.

On the same day, the Kings will play hosts HiTech Bangkok City at the HiTech Gym.
