VietNamNet Bridge – The People's Council of many provinces and cities have completed the year-end session, which elected key personnel for the 2011-2016 term.

On December 11, the HCM City People's Council elected Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Party Secretary of HCM City Party Committee, as the Chair of the People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term.

Mr. Le Van Khoa, director of the Department of Industry and Trade, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Chairman of HCMC Labor Federation, were elected Vice Chairs.

The council also elected five members of the HCM City People’s Committee, including: Major General Le Dong Phong, director of the HCM City Public Security Bureau; Mr. Su Ngoc Anh, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Head of the Office of the People's Committee; Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Director of the Department of Transport; and Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Director of the Department of Finance.

On December 10, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved the election of Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung - Deputy Party Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee, and Director of Hanoi Police - as Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

The Prime Minister also approved the election of the Chair of Phu Yen province to Mr. Hoang Van Tra, Deputy Party Secretary of Phu Yen Party Committee.

The Lao Cai Provincial People's Council elected Mr Dang Xuan Phong, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Chairman of Lao Ca, as the province’s Chairman, and Mr. Nguyen Huu The, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee as Vice Chairman.

The Dak Nong People’s Council elected Mr. Nguyen Bon, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of Dak Nong, as the province’s Chairman.

With a high number of votes of confidence, Mr. Duong Thanh Trung, Deputy Party Secretary of Bac Lieu Province, was elected as Chairman of Bac Lieu for the 2011-2016 term.

The delegates of Ha Giang People’s Council elected Mr. Trieu Tai Vinh, Party Secretary, as Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Chairman - as Chairman of Ha Giang province for the 2011-2016 term.

In Hung Yen Province, Deputy Party Secretary Nguyen Van Phong was elected Chairman with high confidence votes. He previously served as director of the Natural Resources and Environment Department, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and Vice Party Secretary of Hung Yen.

In Binh Duong, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem - Deputy Party Secretary Vice Chairman - was elected as the province’s Chairman. Mr. Dang Minh Hung, Deputy head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Board, was elected Vice Chair.

The Soc Trang People’s Council elected Mr. Lam Van Man, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman, as the Chair of the provincial People's Council.

Two Vice Chairs of the People’s Committee were also elected, including Mr. Le Van Hieu, Party Secretary of the Party Committee of Cu Lao Dung District, and Mr. Ngo Hung, Party Secretary of Tran De District.

Mr. Bui Xuan Hoa, Deputy Party Secretary of Thai Nguyen province, was elected Chairman of the provincial People's Council. Mr. Vu Hong Bac, Deputy Party Secretary, was elected the province’s Chairman. Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Party Secretary of Dong Hy district, was appointed Deputy Chairman of the province.
