Both films are scheduled to premiere nationwide on July 25. Even before its official release, Conan Movie 28 has already made waves in Vietnam, grossing VND 50 billion (over USD 1.9 million) through early screenings and pre-sale tickets as of the morning of July 22, according to Box Office Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Marvel’s latest take on the iconic superhero team, comes with a production budget of USD 200 million. Featuring an entirely new cast, the film is highly anticipated for introducing the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the first time, due to previous rights issues.

Conan Movie 28 has already surpassed VND 50 billion at the Vietnamese box office.

Vietnamese cinemas are gearing up for a box office clash this weekend as two cinematic powerhouses land simultaneously: the 28th installment of Detective Conan and Marvel's latest blockbuster Fantastic Four: First Steps.

This version marks a fresh departure from past adaptations, aiming to reinvent the beloved characters who were once portrayed by actors like Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Ioan Gruffudd. This time, the iconic roles are entrusted to Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn.

Early reviews of Fantastic Four: First Steps have been overwhelmingly positive. George McKay of Harpers Media said, “This may be the best film Marvel Studios has ever released. The performances, particularly from Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn, are phenomenal. If you thought the MCU ended with Endgame, think again. This is a masterfully crafted film that could redefine the superhero genre.”

Fantastic Four: First Steps premieres in Vietnam on July 25 with both subtitled and dubbed versions.

Brian Long (Brian Long Films) admitted: “I didn’t expect much at first, but Fantastic Four truly marks the MCU’s grand return. The opening scenes alone were breathtaking on IMAX.” Brandon Davis also praised the film: “First Steps features some of the most visually stunning scenes Marvel has ever produced.”

With such glowing feedback, Fantastic Four: First Steps is widely expected to dominate the global box office during its opening weekend.
