According to FLC Group, Vu died in Gia Lai Province at the age of 72.

Vu had served as Vice Chairman of FLC Group since August 1, 2026. In the role, he was responsible for aviation and airport infrastructure investment, contributing to strategic planning, expanding FLC's international partnership network, connecting investment resources and advancing development programs across the group's aviation, infrastructure and service ecosystem.

Through Vu's connections, FLC and HAS Development Corporation (HASDC), a US company with 25 years of experience in airport investment, development, management and operations across Central and South America, conducted site surveys and studied plans to upgrade and expand Phu Cat and Pleiku airports under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The proposal received in-principle approval from Gia Lai Province on July 10, 2026.

On July 22, 2026, FLC Group and HASDC signed a framework agreement on investment in and upgrades to Phu Cat and Pleiku airports in Gia Lai Province.

According to publicly disclosed information, Vu was a senior executive with more than 40 years of experience spanning aviation, international investment, business development and the promotion of international cooperation across multiple markets worldwide.

He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States, one of the world's leading business schools and part of the Ivy League university system.

Before joining FLC, Vu served as Country Director of Boeing Vietnam. He also held a number of prominent leadership positions, including Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) in Vietnam, an organization representing leading US corporations and working to promote trade and investment ties between the United States and ASEAN.

Vu also served as Chairman of the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF), an annual policy dialogue mechanism between the Vietnamese government and the domestic and international business communities; and Chairman of AmCham Hanoi, which brings together US businesses and investors operating in Vietnam. He also held several senior leadership positions at multinational corporations.

With many years of experience working in Vietnam and across the region, Vu was regarded as a seasoned expert in aviation, business development, government relations and international investment promotion.

He was involved in advancing numerous cooperation initiatives between Vietnamese companies and international partners, particularly those from the United States, while drawing on extensive experience connecting businesses with financial institutions, investors and global corporations.
