This year's competition, organised by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in collaboration with IIG Vietnam Company and Viettel, is expected to attract the participation of 1,500 students grouped into 260 teams.

The popular Microsoft Office competition is the only one endorsed by Microsoft, and provides a platform for students to showcase their expert skills using Microsoft Office tools and gain the upper hand in today’s competitive academic and professional marketplace.

Doan Hong Nam, IIG Vietnam president and head of the MOSWC 2016 organizing board, said the top candidates from the qualifying round will attend the final round in the spring of 2016.

“The final round will determine the three winners who will represent Vietnam at the world finals in Orlando, Florida in August 2016,” he said. “The winner of the world round will receive a total cash prize of US$7,500.”

The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championships now in its 14th year is the world's largest office informatics competition held annually on global scale by US-based Certiport Corporation for students aged 13-22.
