Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nguyen Dinh Khang visited respected community figures and disadvantaged ethnic minority households in Cam Hiep Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, during an official working trip.

On the afternoon of June 29, a delegation from the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, led by Minister Nguyen Dinh Khang, visited respected members of the local community, disadvantaged ethnic minority households and Cam Hiep Commune Health Station.
The delegation also included leaders from several departments under the ministry. Representing Khanh Hoa Province were Chamalea Thi Thuy, Director of the provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, along with local officials.

Cam Hiep Commune covers more than 116 sq km, with over 80% of its area consisting of hills and mountains. The commune is home to 1,885 households with a population of 7,165, including around 1,240 Raglai ethnic minority residents.
The locality has six religious establishments serving nearly 2,300 followers, primarily Buddhists and Catholics. It currently has one poor household and 32 near-poor households.
During the 2021-2025 period, Cam Hiep implemented several projects under Vietnam's National Target Program, including housing support, centralized clean water systems for 216 households, upgrades to the Suoi Lach irrigation dam and repairs to local rural roads.
The commune also provided breeding cattle to 45 households, implemented forest protection contracts, organized traditional ma la gong music classes and supported the preservation of traditional ethnic costumes.
To date, all ethnic minority residents are covered by health insurance, while every household has access to electricity and hygienic water supplies.

During the visit, the delegation toured Cam Hiep Commune Health Station, where Minister Nguyen Dinh Khang met with medical staff to discuss the challenges and opportunities in providing healthcare services, particularly for ethnic minority communities.

At the Cam Hiep Commune People's Committee headquarters, Minister Nguyen Dinh Khang presented gifts to two respected community members and 18 disadvantaged ethnic minority households.
The minister also extended his encouragement to local residents, urging them to continue striving for better livelihoods and happier lives.
In addition, the delegation presented gifts to two local organizations.

Later that afternoon, the ministry's delegation visited the Khanh Hoa Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs and the National Ethnic Preparatory School in Nha Trang.
The delegation also inspected the construction progress of the school's new campus in Nam Nha Trang Ward.
