Minister Truong Minh Tuan.
- What did you think when you became the head of the information – communication sector?
Today, we are living in the era of information technology boom. Development of information technology brings about tremendous value to society, but it also will change the value of the human being. It's a real challenge, which cannot be solved in a short time.
Information technology platform is an important pillar of the communications sector. In some extent, we have to catch up to the new trend but in the future we must attempt to not fall into backwardness.
I acknowledge the reality that we have not found solutions to manage social networking well This is not only the difficulty of Vietnam, but other countries, too.
Searching for an affordable solution to manage social networks to transform them into useful tools is a top priority of my tenure. I also have prioritized an action plan "For a healthy information society" in the near future. It is very difficult, but I believe that it will be overcome.
Could you tell us the immediate objectives that you will focus on?
- I will continue realizing the mission and strategy of the information – communication sector. That is the national press development and management scheme to 2025, digitalization of transmission, digital television broadcasting by 2020, training - development of the human resource on information security to 2020 and the national telecommunications development planning to 2020.
In particular, I am interested in two other important objectives:
First, perfecting legal documents so the Press Law (amended) that has just been approved by the National Assembly will soon come to life and at the same time build the Law on social network management based on the spirit of Decree 72.
Second, encouraging, developing and supporting the start-up community of Vietnam.
There is a lot of work which is quite difficult, but with the spirit of dedication for the common goals of the country, I will try my best to complete the task with the desire to receive help from the government and public opinion in the near future.
