On the afternoon of October 3 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs organized a fundraising event to support communities affected by Storm No.10.

The event was attended by Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, Deputy Ministers Y Vinh Tor, Nong Thi Ha, and Nguyen Hai Trung, along with officials, civil servants, and employees of the ministry.
Speaking at the event, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that Storm No.10 had caused severe damage to both lives and property, especially in areas inhabited by ethnic minority groups.
He expressed deep sympathy to the families who had suffered losses, particularly among ethnic minority communities, religious believers, and people living in difficult circumstances.
General Secretary To Lam had earlier extended his condolences to the families of those affected and offered encouragement to people in the storm-hit regions.
The Party, the Government, and the Prime Minister have instructed relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities to mobilize all resources and implement urgent recovery efforts to help people stabilize their lives and resume production.
During the launch event, officials and staff of the ministry donated a total of 300 million VND (approximately USD 12,000).
This amount will be sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and directly to the hardest-hit localities.
“This is a noble act that reflects the spirit of solidarity and the responsibility of officials at the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs. Although modest, the contribution will help affected communities overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize their lives,” said Minister Dao Ngoc Dung.
He also called on all ministry personnel to contribute at least one day’s salary to support the storm victims.
Additionally, the Minister instructed the ministry’s office to allocate around 1 billion VND (about USD 40,000) from the political budget and 250 million VND (around USD 10,000) from socialized sources via VietNamNet to organize working delegations to visit affected areas and offer support directly to those in need.
He also directed departments and affiliated units to continue mobilizing additional funding sources to assist the impacted communities in recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The donated amount will be transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front and severely affected localities.
