Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs to look into reports that many members of two families hold key administrative positions in two northern localities of Hai Duong and Hai Phong.

On April 13, Tuoi tre (Youth) online newspaper published a report that many members of a family in Hai Duong Province’s Kim Thanh District and Hai Phong City’s An Duong District hold key administrative positions in the two localities.

It stated that in Kim Thanh District, Nguyen Huu Tien is secretary of the district’s Party Committee, his younger brother Nguyen Huu Hung is vice-chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, and his brother-in-law Nguyen Hong Cuong heads the organisation department of the district’s Party Committee.

Another article published in Doi song Plus (Life Plus) online newspaper on April 15 has alleged that in An Duong District, Nguyen Truong Son is vice-chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, his older brother Nguyen The Son is head of the committee’s finance and planning office, and his younger brother Nguyen The Hung is deputy head of the organisation department of the district’s Party Committee.

Binh has asked the ministry to send him a report before April 28.
