The "Jury Session" of Miss Cosmo 2024 took place in Ho Chi Minh City, showcasing nearly 60 contestants from various countries and territories as they flaunted their beauty and elegance in stunning evening gowns and swimwear. The night was hosted by Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa and MC Duc Bao.
Before the show, there was some disappointment as two contestants - Miss U.S. Virgin Islands, London Tucker, and Miss Colombia, María Alejandra Salazar - announced their withdrawal due to personal and health reasons, respectively. Both had been considered strong contenders.
The night opened with the contestants proudly announcing their home countries while wearing dazzling evening gowns. Standout performances came from representatives of Peru, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United States, who maintained their strong presence in the competition.
While the night dazzled with beauty and grace, it also had its share of tense moments. Miss Ukraine, Anastasiia Panova, caused a stir when she unexpectedly fell midway through her walk on stage. However, she quickly regained her composure and completed her performance gracefully. This wasn’t her first stage mishap - she had previously collided with a prop during the National Costume round in Ninh Binh.
Representing the host country, Bui Xuan Hanh was one of the last contestants to appear. She confidently shouted "Vietnam" as she graced the stage in a sparkling silver gown with a sheer cape designed by Do Long. The dress, named "Glow of Purity," accentuated her stunning physique.
After the evening gown segment, the organizers unveiled the official crown for Miss Cosmo 2024, called the "Impactful Crown." Created by Vietnamese designer Tran Chi Nguyen, the crown features over 122 carats of white diamonds and is platinum-coated. The tiaras for the runners-up are also platinum-coated and adorned with sapphires, weighing a total of 81 carats.
The evening concluded with a sizzling swimsuit round featuring all 56 contestants. In their bold, two-piece swimsuits, the contestants showcased their toned physiques while confidently strutting down the runway enhanced by dynamic 3D stage effects.
While most contestants displayed strong performances, a few struggled with the long trains on their gowns, which caused some to stumble, affecting their overall presentation.
Appearing towards the end, Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 Bui Xuan Hanh garnered attention with her sleek hair and bold two-piece swimsuit. Her energetic catwalk and bright smile lit up the stage as she flawlessly handled the long train of her ensemble.
