According to their latest rankings, Hoa is predicted to come in at 12th in the overall list.
Elsewhere, the Mexican beauty was selected as the favourite to be crowned as the overall winner of the beauty contest, while the French and Indian contestants were picked for the first and second runner-up titles, respectively.
Rounding off the list of the Top 12 contestants are the beauties from Poland, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Denmark, Jamaica, Russia, and Bolivia.
Elsewhere, the website IC Queens rated Bui Quynh Hoa among the Top 16, whilst some other international rankings also placed the Vietnamese beauty in the Top 20.
Quynh Hoa, 25, stands at 1.75 metres tall with body measurement of 83-60-94 cm. She overcame 17 other contestants to be crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 during the competition’s final night held on September 29, thereby meeting the criteria to compete in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant.
The Hanoi native has acquired plenty of experience by competing in beauty contests, including winning Miss Ao Dai Vietnam World 2017, Supermodel Vietnam 2018, and Supermodel International 2022.
The model previously worked as a coach at the Miss International Queen Vietnam transgender pageant and at Miss Earth Vietnam. She also worked as a member of the judging panel during the Super Model International Philippines contest.
Miss Universe was first held back in 1952 and is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants alongside Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.
This year marks the 72nd edition of the pageant. Moving forward, its grand final will be held in El Salvador on November 18 and will feature the participation of 80 contestants from across the world.
The current Miss Universe is R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States who was crowned on January 14 in New Orleans of the US.
Vietnamese beauties have recorded a number of outstanding achievements at Miss Universe throughout the years, including Nguyen Thuy Lam who finished among the Top 15 in 2008, H’Hen Nie who made the Top 5 in 2018, Hoang Thuy who was in the Top 20 in 2019, Khanh Van who finished in the Top 21 in 2020, and Kim Duyen who recorded a Top 16 finish in 2021.
