VietNamNet Bridge – A young man in Thanh Hoa province showed off pictures of several dead monkeys on his personal Facebook page to impress his friends. Thanks to the pictures, the authorities have found the killer.

Mr. Vu Thien Thuyet, vice chief of Nong Cong district forest protection bureau in the central province of Thanh Hoa, on August 1 announced that the agency had identified the one who killed several monkeys through photos posted on the Facebook page of a local man.

On July 27, some pictures showing horrible killing of monkeys were posted on the Facebook page of an account named Kubin Remix. The pictures immediately stirred up public outrage and caught the attention of the authorities.

The owner of the Facebook page was identified as a young man named Cao Tuan Anh, a resident of village 6 in Tan Khang commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province.

Local rangers went to Tuan Anh’s house to find the monkeys or related evidence but they did not.

Tuan Anh admitted that the pictures posted on his Facebook were real.

He captured these images at the home of his wife’s neighbor and posted them on his Facebook to show off. He posted three photos, with the caption: “One successful week-long hunt”.

Based on Tuan Anh’s declaration, rangers identified the man named Le Van Sau, from Vilalge 1, Tan Phuc commune, Nong Cong district.

Upon checking his house, rangers caught Sau was cooking monkey bone glue.

Sau confessed that he had killed three monkeysto make bone glue. He bought the monkeys from a man from the southern region.

Rangers confiscated the monkey bone and monkey bone glue.

Le Quoc Viet, vice head of Thanh Hoa province’s forest protection agency, said under Vietnamese law, those who hunt, kill, transport, trade and cage monkeys face administrative fines up to VND500 million ($25,000).

Viet said those involved in this case would be fined under the law.
