 District 2, the eastern gateway to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, is now home to many high-rise projects. This area has a very favorable location for urban development, as it is very close to the city center.  Dozens of buildings are being built along the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line. This is The Vista luxury apartment building.  Next to The Vista is Lexington Residence project and PetroVietnam Landmark.  The new urban area City Horse covers an area of 87 hectares, with a population of about 30,000.   This is Masteri Thao Dien in Thao Dien ward with 4 apartment blocks of 41-45 storeys.  Around Vincom Mega Mall with an area of 120,000 m2 is a complex project with many apartment buildings.  The first metro line in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to become operational in 2018. Experts said that once this route is completed, the property market in HCM City will witness dramatic changes. According to the HCM City Construction Department, of 1,219 housing projects in the city, 207 projects are located along the metro line.  On the left of Masteri Thao Dien is Gateway Thao Dien project.  Apartment building along the Hanoi Highway in Binh Anh and An Phu wards.  A high-end residential project in An Phu ward.  These are buildings in the Binh Khanh resettlement area in Binh Khanh Ward.   Sa La residential area, part of Thu Thiem new urban area, with an area of 257 ha.   The Sun Avenue project along Mai Chi Tho Highway with more than 1,400 apartments.  This area has become a new attraction in HCM City.
