On February 12, Italian motorcycle racing icon Valentino Rossi and Spanish motorcyclist Maverick Viñales arrived in Ho Chi Minh City to attend an event at the invitation of Yamaha, a Japanese manufacturer of motorcycles.
The two motorcyclists told Vietnamese fans they will bring small Vietnamese flags to their Movistar Yamahas in MotoGP this season to promote MotoGP racing in Vietnam. This year, Yamaha Motors Vietnam is the official sponsor of the world-renowned Yamaha Factory Racing. "It was my first time visiting Vietnam and it is a really beautiful place. I haven't had time to see a lot of Ho Chi Minh, but during the car trips I always looked out the window: it's amazing how many people are on the move with scooters!" Rossi said. The two legends wear Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long address) and take photos with their fans. On this occasion, Yamaha Motors Vietnam also talks about the preparation plan of Yamaha GP racing 2017. The event will be held in 4 big cities, including Ho Chi Minh City (April 16), Danang (June 4), Can Tho (August 6), and Binh Duong (November 5). Yamaha YZR-M1, a four stroke motorcycle specifically developed by Yamaha Motor Company to race in the current MotoGP series, is also introduced at the event. |
