French photographer André Alessio says it is hard to make the connection between people and nature, but he has spent the better part of the past few years travelling the globe trying to do it.
Alessio first arrived in the mountainous areas of Vietnam in May 2015 as part of his journey around the globe. He chose the mountainous areas for his destination as he prefers less populated areas. He has named his project ‘Soul of Vietnam’. André Alessio spent considerable time talking with local people to gain a better understanding of their lives. He has gained much notoriety for other projects like ‘Boats at sunset’, ‘Landscapes of Iceland’ and ‘Serie Noire’. Images of the mountainous people the French photographed seem to come alive. He painstakingly recorded the daily life of local people. Here, Alessio captured the essence of a mountainous market. |
