Pop star My Tam has been named in a list of nominees at the Big Apple Music Awards (BAMA), according to the official Facebook page of the awards.

Tam is the only Vietnam representative at the award. Other singers in the list are Zayn Malik, BTS, EXO-K, SNSD.

This is the third consecutive year My Tam has appeared in the list of nominees at BAMA. In 2015 she won the Best Selling Artist of Asia award at BAMA. She received no prize in 2016.

Tam began as a singer and songwriter in 1999. She plays guitar, piano, organ and is also a dancer.

The Big Apple Music Awards is an annual event started in 2004 to recognise music from Central Asia, the Caucasus's and the Middle East.

The BAMA Foundation is a non-profit organisation of recording artists, creators, professionals and technicians around the globe. They post a list of nominees on the web and call for votes from internet users.

The 2017 awards will be given in New York, US on October 22.
