The National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Government and the Lao counterparts to successfully carry out the Lao NA House project whose construction began in Vientiane on November 1, said a top legislator.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the promise while paying a courtesy visit to General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and State President Bounnhang Volachith.
Ngan has been in Laos to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Lao NA House, which is a gift donated by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), State and people to the neighbouring country.
She noted with joy the fruitful development of the special relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially the success of the meeting between the two Politburos in January 2017 and the 39th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee in February 2017, and the exchange of visits by senior leaders.
Vietnam is actively preparing for the upcoming visit by comrade Bounnhang Volachith to attend activities wrapping up the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017, she said.
The Vietnamese legislature will also join hands with its Lao counterpart to encourage relevant agencies to deploy agreements reached by senior leaders of the two countries and outcomes of the two aforementioned meetings, while preparing for the next meetings of the Politburos and the Inter-Governmental Committee in 2018, the top legislator said.
The legislatures will also step up cooperation and exchange legislative experiences, and team up with concerned agencies to increase supervision over joint projects in order to expand and raise efficiency of cooperation, particularly in economy, trade and investment.
Ngan called on Laos to create the best possible conditions for overseas Vietnamese to work and study in Laos, consider reducing fees for procedures and services, and taxes for Vietnamese, and employ more Vietnamese labourers in Vietnamese-invested or joint projects.
For his part, Volachith thanked Vietnam’s great support to Laos during the country’s past struggle for national liberation as well as the present cause of national construction and development.
He spoke highly the valuable assistance of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to Laos in constructing the Lao NA House, a symbol of the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, Governments, legislatures and people.
Later the same day, Ngan and her entourage left Laos, successfully concluded her visit to the country to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Lao NA House.-VNA
