On April 11, the National Assembly approved a list of members of the National Electional Council (NEC) and the Council on National Defence and Security (CNDS) presented earlier by President Tran Dai Quang and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The voting results were announced by Huynh Van Ti - Head of the Vote Counting Board as follows:

Members of the Council on National Defence and Security (CNDS):

1. Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Prime Minister, Vice Chairman of the Council with 485 approval votes or 98.18% of the total number of deputies

2. Madame Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan – NA Chairwoman, member of the Council with 485 votes for 98.18%

3. Mr Ngo Xuan Lich - Minister of Defence, member of the Council with 484 approval votes or 97.98%

4. Mr To Lam - Minister of Public Security, member of the Council with 485 votes for or 98.18%

Vice Chairs of the National Electoral Council (NEC):

1. Truong Hoa Binh - Deputy Prime Minister with 481 approval votes or 97.37%

2. Madame Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – Vice State President with 478 votes for or 96.76%

The National Electoral Council also includes 13 other members.

The same day, the NA also voted to approve a resolution ratifying the proposal of the NEC Chairman on a list of a number of vice chairs and NEC members and a resolution approving the proposal of the State President on a list of some Vice Chairs and CNDS members.
