The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee concluded its 30th session on Thursday, having completed all items on its working agenda.

In her closing remarks, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked the Government, NA committees and relevant agencies to study opinions presented during the session regarding the revised draft law on the execution of criminal judgements, while finalising three draft resolutions for issuance.

She said the 31st session is slated for February 20 and 21, which is just more than a week after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. As the time to prepare for the session is short, Ngan said the Government and relevant ministries and agencies should actively co-ordinate with the NA Standing Committee to complete necessary preparations.

Earlier, the committee approved the adjustment and establishment of a number of administrative units in the southern province of Dong Thap and the northern province of Hai Duong.

The 30th session of the NA Standing Committee took place over just one day, during which members gave their ideas on a number of issues with draft laws and decided on the sending of a representative to the national council for judge selection and supervision. — VNS
