The National Assembly (NA) will vote for new Government inspector general and minister of transport at its next meeting set for late this month, said the NA chairwoman, according to the local media.

The current chief of the Government Inspectorate is Phan Van Sau and the current Minister of Transport is Truong Quang Nghia, with the latter picked as new Party chief of Danang City late last week by the Party Central Committee.

Nghia replaced Nguyen Xuan Anh who was earlier dismissed from the post of Party secretary of Danang and removed from the Party Central Committee over his serious violations.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said at the opening of the NA Standing Committee’s 15th session in Hanoi on October 11 that the nation’s legislature would carry out a procedure to relieve the current chief of the Government Inspectorate and transport minister.

The reason for releasing Phan Van Sau from duty as Government chief inspector is unknown but might be related to a leadership shuffle at the Ministry of Transport, according to Dan Tri online newspaper.

Ngan noted the committee would consider the candidates for these two positions as proposed by the NA deputies’ affairs committee, the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission and the Government.
