At a reception for Senator Tom Carper and Congressmen Joaquin Castro and Beto O’Rourke in Hanoi on May 23, Hien said the guests’ visit will contribute to enhancing relations between legislative bodies and the people of Vietnam and the US.

The two law-making bodies have exchanged many high-ranking delegations, he said, hailing the efforts of leaders of the US Senate and House of Representatives and the congressmen themselves in fostering the relationship between the two countries.

In reply, Tom Carper briefed his host on the operation of the US Congress,which includes the Senate and the House of Representatives.
