Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank - HOSE: NAB) and Proparco, the development finance institution of the French Development Agency (AFD), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and mobilize green financial resources.
The signing ceremony took place in Paris during a high-level working visit by Nam A Bank’s leadership to Europe, marking a strategic milestone in the bank’s efforts to internationalize sustainable capital while advancing its goal of greening operations and expanding its global financial network.

The agreement was signed by Tran Khai Hoan, Member of the Board of Directors and Acting CEO of Nam A Bank, along with a senior representative from Proparco.
The partnership focuses on promoting the development and mobilization of sustainable green financial resources. At its core is the Green Finance Community, a pioneering initiative proposed by Nam A Bank within the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
Collaboration with an international institution such as Proparco is expected to create strong synergies, facilitating the sharing of global resources while positioning the Vietnam International Financial Center as an attractive hub for green capital and sustainable development.
Following the signing ceremony, senior leaders from both sides held discussions on key areas of cooperation for the period ahead.

The MoU comes as Proparco is evaluating a loan of US$30 million with a five-year tenor to support Nam A Bank’s green credit portfolio. The proposed financing aligns with the bank’s long-term strategy of promoting environmentally responsible business activities.
Proparco has recently completed due diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures at Nam A Bank. Representatives praised the bank’s stable growth and prudent operations amid economic volatility.
Nam A Bank’s integration of Environmental and Social standards into its operations was also highlighted as a critical foundation for expanding cooperation.
“This MoU reflects not only the trust of an international development finance institution in Nam A Bank, but also marks an important step in elevating our operational standards,” a representative of the bank said.
“We believe this partnership will help expand green financial resources and further promote sustainable development within Vietnam’s business community and the wider economy,” he added.
Nam A Bank continues to pursue a sustainable development strategy built on two pillars: digital transformation and green growth. By directing capital toward environmentally responsible sectors, the bank aims to support Vietnamese enterprises in accessing financial resources at optimized costs and strengthening national competitiveness.
Proparco, a subsidiary of the Agence Française de Développement, focuses on private sector development.
