No 1 seeded doubles duo Ly Hoang Nam of Vietnam and Ti Chen of Chinese Taipei advanced to the semi-finals of the VN Men’s Futures F9 tennis competition in Binh Duong Province.

The mixed nationality pair needed only 44 minutes to defeat Vietnamese duo Le Cong Tien and Trinh Linh Giang 6-2, 6-1 in the doubles event.

Today, they will play No 3 Karol Drzewiecki and Maciej Smola from Poland who won their quarter-final match after Congsup Congcar of Thailand and Victor Poncelet of Belgium retired.

No 4 Nam will also challenge his teammate Trinh Linh Giang in the singles pool.

In other matches yesterday, No 2 duo Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Kittiphong Wachiramanowong of Thailand won 6-2, 6-2 over Indian Vinayak Sharma Kaza and Sasi Kumar Mukund; No 4 pair Moon Ju-hae and Noh Sang-woo of South Korea beat Thai Punn Bodhidatta and Jirat Navasirisomboon 6-1, 6-3.
