The 14th National Assembly adopted five laws on November 19 during its sixth session.
Deputies press button to vote on the approval of Law on Vietnam Coast Guard
With 92.99 percent of votes, the NA passed the revised Law on Amnesty.
The law consists of six chapters with 39 articles, stipulating the principles, time, order, procedure, jurisdiction, and responsibility of implementing amnesty; the conditions, rights, and obligations of those who are offered pardon; as well as the rights and obligations of amnesty recipients. Subject to the law are convicts with prison terms, including life sentences; agencies, organisations, and citizens of Vietnam; foreigners residing in Vietnam; as well as foreign and international organisations operating in Vietnam related to amnesty activities.
NA deputies also voted to approve the Law on Crop Production with a 93.81 percent approval rate.
With seven chapters and 85 articles, the law stipulates plantation activities; the rights and obligations of organisations and individuals working in the field; and state management on crop production.
On the same day, the Law on Animal Husbandry was adopted with 93.61 percent of the vote. It stipulates activities on animal husbandry; the rights and obligations of organisations and individuals working in the field; and state management on animal husbandry in its eight chapters and 83 articles.
Meanwhile with a 96.29 percent approval rate, law makers passed the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard.
The law, with eight chapters and 41 articles, regulates the position, function, mission, and jurisdiction of the Vietnam Coast Guard; its organisation and operations, as well as regime and policies; and the responsibility of related agencies, organisations, and individuals.
The NA on November 19 continued to work with the endorsement of the law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education, with 84.12 percent of the vote. –VNA
