On November 28, the National Assembly approved the nomination of two judges to the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam: Nguyen Quoc Doan, Party Secretary of Lang Son Province, and Le Tien, Director of Department 10 at the Supreme People's Procuracy.

The confirmation process followed the Chief Justice’s proposal to the National Assembly. After completing all procedural steps, the appointments were approved through a secret ballot.

The resolution was subsequently ratified via electronic voting. Out of 448 deputies present, 93.53% voted in favor, 0.21% opposed, and 0.42% abstained.

Born in 1975 in Ninh Binh, Nguyen Quoc Doan holds a Doctorate in Law and is a member of the 13th Central Party Committee. His previous roles include:

Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police Command (Ministry of Public Security),
Director of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police,
Deputy Secretary, then Standing Deputy Secretary, of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee.
Since July 2021, Doan has served as the Party Secretary of Lang Son Province.

Born in 1969, Le Tien has had a long career in the procuracy sector, holding key positions at the Supreme People’s Procuracy, including:

Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters,
Director of the Department of Public Prosecution and Investigation of Economic Crimes,
Senior Prosecutor at the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
From April 1, 2020, he was seconded to serve as Chief Prosecutor of the Da Nang City People’s Procuracy for a three-year term. He currently leads Department 10, overseeing the resolution of administrative, commercial, and labor cases.

According to the Law on Organization of the People’s Courts, the Supreme People’s Court Judicial Council must have no fewer than 13 and no more than 17 members. This includes the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justices, and other judges.

With the addition of Nguyen Quoc Doan and Le Tien, the Judicial Council now comprises 17 members, including:

Chief Justice Le Minh Tri,
Five Deputy Chief Justices: Nguyen Van Du, Nguyen Tri Tue, Nguyen Van Tien, Duong Van Thang, and Pham Quoc Hung,
Other judges: Luong Ngoc Tram, Le Van Minh, Ngo Hong Phuc, Tran Hong Ha, Ngo Tien Hung, Dao Thi Minh Thuy, Nguyen Van Dung, Nguyen Bien Thuy, Nguyen Hong Nam, Nguyen Quoc Doan, and Le Tien.
