The Thai Binh Provincial Police Agency has issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, issue a temporary detention order, and a search warrant against Le Thanh Van (born in 1964, residing in Chuong Duong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi).

Van has been prosecuted and temporarily detained for investigation on charges of abusing his position and power to influence others for personal gain, as stipulated in Article 358 of the Penal Code.

Van is a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

According to the Thai Binh Provincial Police, this development is part of the expanded investigation into the case involving former National Assembly deputy Luu Binh Nhuong and accomplices, who are charged with extortion and abusing their position and power to influence others for personal gain in Thai Binh province.

The Thai Binh Provincial Police are urgently collecting and consolidating documents and evidence, while expanding the investigation and recovering assets in accordance with the law.
