The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee convened its 21st session in Hanoi on February 7, under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

During their working session, the NASC gave their opinions on the contents of several draft laws that are of different viewpoints, including the revised draft of the Denunciation Law, and the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Physical Training and Sports.

Regarding the revised draft of the Denunciation Law, the NASC has suggested approval for the denunciations to be lodged and processed via e-mails, faxes and phone calls and regulations on related procedures must be very tight.

The draft law also stipulates the responsibilities of and sanctions on erroneous denunciations or those taking advantage of denunciations to stir public disorder.

Also at the session, the NASC approved the establishment of the Tien Chau and Nam Viem wards in Phuc Yen town and Phuc Yen city in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

Vice NA Chairman Uong Chu Luu called for the observance of the resolutions adopted at the sixth plenum of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and the collection of public opinions on the establishment, merger, dissolution and adjustment of administrative units in line with regulations of the Law on Organisation of Local Administration.
