A ceremony to pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang will take place from 7am on September 26 at the National Funeral House, No5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi.

It will be followed by a memorial service at the national funeral house at 7:30 am on September 27. A burial ceremony will be held at 3:30 pm on the same day at Kim Son district cemetery, the northern province of Ninh Binh.

The tribute-paying and memorial ceremonies are set to take place at Thong Nhat (Unification) Hall in Ho Chi Minh City and at People's Committee of Kim Son district Hall, Ninh Binh province at the same time with those in Hanoi.

These ceremonies will be broadcast live by the Vietnam Television (VTV) and Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).

On national mourning days, September 26 and 27, all State offices and public places will fly the national flag at half-mast and all entertainment activities will be suspended.

Tran Dai Quang was born on October 12, 1956 in Ninh Binh province. His residence address is No 8, Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Street, Hanoi. He joined the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on July 26, 1980. He was a member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th Party Central Committee and the 11th and 12th Politburo. He was a deputy of the National Assembly in the 13th and 14th tenures and served as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam since April 2016.

During his lifetime, President Tran Dai Quang made great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. He was honored with numerous Orders and Medals and a badge of 35-year Party membership. His passing is a great loss of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam.
