On the afternoon of January 14, the official press center for the 14th National Party Congress was inaugurated at the National Convention Center in Hanoi. The event marks one of the first major activities of the highly anticipated congress.
The launch ceremony was attended by Standing Member of the Party Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang; Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet; as well as senior leaders from central and local government bodies.
The press center is equipped with modern facilities, including high-speed internet access, more than 150 laptops and desktop computers, 10 printers, 2 fax machines, and 10 large-screen TVs. The center is designed to provide optimal conditions for journalists to work and report on the congress proceedings.
As of now, 597 reporters and technical staff from 113 domestic media agencies have registered to cover the event. Additionally, 79 journalists and press assistants from 43 foreign news organizations - as well as overseas Vietnamese journalists and representatives of international political parties - have signed up to participate.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lai Xuan Mon, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, emphasized that information and communication efforts for the 14th Party Congress have been rolled out in a widespread and coordinated manner. These efforts have generated strong and positive public engagement around what is considered a historic, transformative political event.
Ahead of the center’s launch and the international press briefing, Party and State leaders, alongside numerous delegates, toured the accompanying exhibition spaces. These included the display “From Congress to Congress,” a showcase of books and publications, and the photo exhibition “Under the Party’s Flag, the Nation Enters a New Era.”
As part of the occasion, a special commemorative stamp collection celebrating the 14th Party Congress was also officially released.
