Nguyen Xuan Son exudes confidence ahead of his debut match for Vietnam.

“Our goal is to win and secure a spot in the semifinals,” Xuan Son said. “I’ve been thinking a lot about tomorrow’s game. I just want to get on the field and play. I’m very happy with the support I’ve received from fans, the coaching staff, and my teammates.”

When asked how he plans to celebrate his first goal for Vietnam, the 27-year-old forward admitted he has yet to decide.

“I’m confident I can sing the anthem well,” he said. “I practice speaking Vietnamese every day, and with the help of others, communication has not been an issue.”

Speaking exclusively to VietNamNet about his expectations for the match, Xuan Son made a bold statement: “I will score 3 goals.”

Vietnam’s match against Myanmar is scheduled for 8 p.m. on December 21 at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho.
