Nearly 100 people have been mobilized in a search operation for a Russian tourist who went missing while walking with her father at Viem Dong Beach in Da Nang.

Speaking to VietNamNet on the evening of June 15, Nguyen Thanh Vy, chairman of Dien Ban Dong Ward People's Committee, said authorities had not yet located the missing woman as of 8 p.m.

According to preliminary information, the tourist's family of three was staying at a hotel along the coastal road in the Viem Dong area on the evening of June 14.

After dinner, the father and daughter went for a walk on the beach while the mother remained at the hotel.

As they walked along the shoreline in the dark, the father, who was trailing behind, lost sight of his daughter and was unable to catch up with her.

The family and hotel staff immediately searched the surrounding area but were unable to find her and later reported the case to local authorities.

Upon receiving the report, the Da Nang Military Command instructed the Dien Ban Dong Ward Military Command to coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies to launch a search and rescue operation.

Nearly 100 people have been deployed, including military personnel, standing militia forces from the ward military command, police officers, firefighters, rescue teams from Area No. 7 Fire and Rescue Unit, and local residents.

Search teams are currently combing the Viem Dong coastline and expanding the search area in an effort to locate the missing tourist.
