On December 1, Hanoi hosted the first session of the judging panel and subcommittees for the 2024 Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Awards.
The “Make in Vietnam” awards are a prestigious annual event in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, honoring outstanding Vietnamese digital technology products. This marks the fifth year the awards have been held.
At the session, Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Technology Industry under the Ministry of Information and Communications, emphasized that this year’s awards aim to celebrate exceptional products that embody Vietnamese innovation.
The awards also highlight products driving economic growth, enhancing national competitiveness, and improving labor productivity. The recognized innovations must deliver comprehensive, practical results that benefit citizens and businesses, contributing to digital transformation and economic development across sectors.
In addition to fostering domestic growth, the awards acknowledge Vietnamese digital technology products making an impact globally, advancing human development, and elevating Vietnam’s international standing.
At the session, the organizing committee announced the establishment of the 2024 Make in Vietnam Awards judging panel and eight subcommittees corresponding to the competition’s eight categories.
From now until December 17, the subcommittees will evaluate preliminary submissions, selecting the top 12 entries in each category. These shortlisted products will then present and defend their innovations before the panel to advance to the final round. The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 30, 2024.
Lich urged the panel and subcommittees to ensure fairness and impartiality during the evaluation process. “We encourage members to identify and recommend outstanding digital products and innovative solutions that inspire economic growth, strengthen national competitiveness, and boost productivity,” he said. The department pledged full support for the panel’s work to ensure a successful evaluation process.
As of October 22, 2024, the awards had received 257 entries, with 183 meeting eligibility criteria.
Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Technology Industry, noted that several previous award-winning products have gained recognition in both domestic and international competitions.
