Nearly 200 delegates attended in person and online. Alongside Vietnamese authors, the event attracted international researchers from countries including the UK, Italy, Australia, France, the US, Indonesia and South Korea, as well as Taiwan (China).

ICECH 2026 focused on areas including strategic transformation management, twin transition, digital technologies for management, green supply chain management and smart finance, particularly against a backdrop of heightened economic volatility.

The organizers selected more than 120 papers for presentation during the conference’s official discussion sessions, alongside three keynote research presentations by leading speakers.

Discussions at ICECH 2026 featured a broad range of research into issues directly affecting businesses, including the application of artificial intelligence, digital transformation management, innovation and creativity, digital finance, ESG practices, sustainable supply chain development and green consumer behavior.

The conference also provided an opportunity for Vietnamese and international researchers to expand professional networks, exchange methodologies and develop new avenues for research collaboration. In doing so, it offered an open, practice-oriented academic environment where lecturers, researchers and students could explore emerging business trends and practices within companies.

Concluding the conference, Associate Professor Nguyen Danh Nguyen, rector of the School of Economics at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, emphasized that growing volatility and uncertainty in the economic environment are forcing businesses to rethink their strategies and pursue innovation.

“Digital technology-enabled transformation toward green goals is not only a way for businesses to respond to market volatility, but also an opportunity to innovate business models, enhance competitiveness and strengthen resilience,” Nguyen said.

The annual International Conference on Emerging Challenges has a 14-year history and has established itself as a forum for Vietnamese and international economists, researchers and academics to exchange ideas and propose practical solutions for emerging economies.

ICECH 2026 focused particularly, though not exclusively, on countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
