Hanoi has decided to upgrade pavements of 300 streets, using natural stone and other materials.
Under the decision on the city’s pavement design, pavements of around 100 streets in the seven districts of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Tay Ho, Ha Dong and Hoang Mai will be paved with natural stone. Meanwhile, the remainder will use Terrazzo or concrete bricks.
Districts are allocated to choose good-quality paving materials of clear origin.
Some streets in Cau Giay, Tay Ho and Ha Dong districts have been dug for the paving project.
Many other streets such as Chu Van An, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Van Thu, Quang Ba and Nguyen Dinh Thi in Tay Ho District will also use the same material with Trich Sai.
During the work, pedestrians have to temporarily use the road-bed.
By late 2016, Hanoi restored many inner-city pavements with natural stone which was said to have a duration of 50-70 years. However, these pavements were quickly deteriorated.
The pavements of Trich Sai Street in Tay Ho District have been replaced with natural stone The work is also underway in Cau Giay District Vo Chi Cong Street also to be renovated |
