This is the second cold spell this year after the first which hit the region early this month.

The centre forecasted that the cold weather will affect the northern region from early morning of October 29. It will be colder on October 30 and the central coastal and southern central localities will also be affected by the cold snap.   

The temperature of the northern region will be around between 16 and 19 degrees centigrade from the night of October 30. Temperatures in mountainous areas are forecasted to reach 12-15 degrees centigrade. 

Some mountainous localities could record degrees of below 10 degrees centigrade.

The temperature in Hanoi will be between 19 and 22 degrees centigrade several days to come.

This year’s winter is forecasted to come later but could be colder than the previous three years, according to an expert from the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

The cold weather ranging between seven and 10 days will mainly focus on January and February. The average temperature during the winter will be approximately that of many previous years. However, he forecasted that this year’s winter would be colder than the past three years.
