Authorities in Khanh Hoa province have announced that construction of the Truong Sa Museum will begin on April 29 in Cam Lam commune, marking the 51st anniversary of the liberation of the Truong Sa archipelago (April 29, 1975 - April 29, 2026) and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026).

The museum will be built on a 1.71-hectare site adjacent to the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial, with a total floor area of approximately 3,873 square meters. The structure will include three above-ground floors and one basement level.
Its architectural concept features three branches extending from the mainland toward Truong Sa, symbolizing a reaching gesture toward the East Sea. The building will use red concrete brick materials combined with coral-inspired patterns, reflecting historical narratives while honoring national spirit. The central structure is designed with soft, flowing lines inspired by terrain and spatial movement.
Inside, the museum will feature open spaces with increasing vertical voids, creating a sense of progression. Exhibition areas are arranged in alternating compressed and expanded layouts to guide visitors’ emotional journey.

The display content will be organized thematically, integrating modern projection technology and lighting effects. A key architectural highlight is a façade layer resembling a “curtain” made of fiber-reinforced concrete, adorned with stylized red coral motifs to create dynamic visual effects.
The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2028, with a total investment of approximately VND300 billion (around US$12.3 million).
According to the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, the Truong Sa Museum is envisioned as a cultural, historical and spiritual site closely connected to the Gac Ma memorial. It is intended to serve as a destination for visitors to explore Vietnam’s history and culture, while contributing to education on maritime sovereignty and fostering patriotism among all generations.
