Danang International Airport

Danang People's Committee submitted the written proposal to the Ministry of Transport on November 1, urging the ministry to quickly allocate money and approve of the project.

According to the Ministry of Transport, it is estimated that Danang Airport will receive 13 million passengers and 50,000 tonnes of commodities per year by 2020 and the figures will reach 28 million passengers and 200,000 tonnes of commodities in 2030.

Danang Airport already received 13.3 million passengers per year. Under the current growth rate of 10% to 20% per year, Danang Airport will be overloaded with just two terminals.

Danang authorities proposed to build a new terminal with a capacity of 10 to 15 million passengers per year and upgrade the facilities to deal with the overcrowding problem.

Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam planned to revise the Danang Airport planning since early 2018 for new investment projects. They proposed to build a new terminal to the Ministry of Transport before but hasn't been approved.

Terminal 2 was put into operation last year at the cost of VND3.5trn (USD154m) to serve APEC 2017. Terminal 1 is for domestic flights.
