Police in Hanoi have summoned three people to investigate the death of a newborn baby who was found dead after allegedly falling from the 31st floor of an apartment building in Linh Dam Urban Area.

A newborn baby who was found dead after allegedly falling from the 31st floor of an apartment building in Linh Dam Urban Area in Hanoi on October 18.

Vice head of Hoang Mai District's Police Department, Nguyen Van Bac told the Lao Dong Newspaper on Friday morning that the three people summoned are living in an apartment in the HH2 apartment building.

"One of them was 21-year-old a woman in childbirth who was not feeling well and had been sent to a local hospital," Bac said.

Bac said that the woman was a university student in Hanoi and was living with her boyfriend in the apartment.

"At the hospital she denied having relations with the baby," the official said.

According to some witnesses, they were going for a walk around the building at 8 pm on Thursday when hearing something fall on the yard. And they were terrified when coming near and discovering the newborn baby who was dead already and still had the umbilical cord uncut. 

The apartment has been sealed for further investigation.
