The toll will range from VND60,000 (USD2.6) to VND220,000 (USD9.56), depending on different kinds of vehicles.
The USD174m Cu Mong Tunnel which connects Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces was opened to traffic on January 21.
It is 6.62km long with a speed limit of 80km/h. The build-operate-transfer project was invested by Deo Ca JSC and construction started on September 26, 2015. The project was scheduled to complete on March 31 but completed 2.5 months beforehand.
Three months after being put into operation, around 300,000 vehicles have used the tunnel free of charge.
The project is Vietnam’s third-longest underground tunnel, following the 6.3-kilometre Hai Van Tunnel in the central region and the 4.1-kilometre Deo Ca Tunnel in the south-central part of the country.
