“The next generation Bphone will be introduced at the beginning of August in Hanoi,” Ms. Do Thu Hang, Director of Public Relations at Bkav, told VET.

“The introduction will be even greater than for the previous phone,” she added, but didn’t confirm how many versions of the next generation will be introduced or what they are called. “We don’t have names for the new versions as yet.”

On July 3, on Bkav’s official fanpage, a video was published introducing the next generation Bphone. CEO Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang previously told local media there would be more information made available in August.

At that time, many people thought Bkav would cease making the Bphone because of the fierce competition in the smartphone market.

A rumor began last year on the website of thegioididong.com that the next generation Bphone would have 4GB of RAM, a 21-megapixel rear camera that can film 4K video, and a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Its front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, according to the rumor, while memory storage would be 128 GB and the battery 4,100 mA-h.

In May 2015, Bkav officially introduced its first smartphone in front of 2,000 people at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.

As Bkav is a corporation that began with security technology, the security on the Bphone is one of its superior features. Its integrated mobile security application, Bphone Firewall, provides more safety to users.

The Bphone was introduced at the launch by Mr. Vu Ngoc Son, Vice President of Bkav’s Security Department, as a smartphone without viruses or spyware and one that could not be eavesdropped upon.

It also had Transfer Jet, which allows file transfers at speeds 500 times faster than the normal NFC transfers used by many other phones. It was said to be a special feature rarely found elsewhere.
