Police in Nghi Loc district, the central province of Nghe An, have arrested a man who holds Lao citizenship for his trafficking of 3.3 kg of methamphetamine from Laos to Vietnam.

Pa Vu Mua, born in 1981, was caught red handed in Nghe An’s Vinh City on June 3, with three packs of methamphetamine weighing 3.3 kg in his backpack.

Mua admitted he was hired by a man named Sung A Tinh to transport the drug for 500 USD in return. 

He said he know his action is illegal but he needs the money for a living, adding that he had yet to receive the payment before being arrested.

Mua was born in Ky Son disitrict, Nghe An. In 2002, he obtained a Lao citizenship. He is a father of eight children.

The case is under investigation.-VNA
