Ngoc Han, Miss Vietnam 2010, recently introduced her new Ao Dai collection to the overseas Vietnamese community during an event held in New York, the United States.
After taking a trip to Thailand with her family to celebrate Tet, Ngoc Han has hurriedly flown to New York to prepare for her Ao Dai fashion show in the US. Han says that she received an invitation from Vietnam Heritage Centre in New York two months ago. The beauty queen has decided to bring her latest Ao Dai collection to the event, while having the initiative to think about holding an auction for the purpose of charity. At the event Han was delighted with the designs on display which feature traditional aspects of an Ao Dai. They proved to be popular, receiving many compliments from the Vietnamese expats present. Han said she felt delighted that her collection received such good feedback, with some overseas Vietnamese who were present ordering an Ao Dai for themselves. The designer brought with her 15 different sample outfits to the event. Some have a red brocade, others orange, and some with gold colors combined with net fabric, creating a new and different style. The flower patterns which signal spring have been embroidered into the dress. Former model Ngoc Han changed to a fashion designer three years ago. She is a good example for young designers with her start-up and has already made a big statement in the fashion industry. |
