The Politburo has decided that Nguyen Duy Ngoc, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, will step down from the 13th Secretariat.

At the same time, he has been transferred, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, serving as the Party Secretary of Hanoi for the 2025-2030 term.

Previously, Hanoi Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai was transferred, assigned, and appointed as Party Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Fatherland Front and mass organizations for the 2025-2030 term.

Nguyen Duy Ngoc was born in 1964 in Hung Yen Province and holds a master’s degree in law.

He has spent many years working in the public security sector and has held various senior roles, including Deputy Director of Hanoi Police, Deputy General Director of the General Department of Police, and Director of the Department of Economic, Corruption and Smuggling Crimes Investigation.

He was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security on August 15, 2019, and held this position for nearly five years. In December 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel General.

In early June 2024, the Politburo transferred and appointed him as Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee.

By mid-August 2024, the 13th Party Central Committee elected him as an additional member of the Secretariat.

Earlier this year, the 13th Party Central Committee elected him to the Politburo and appointed him as Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.
