VietNamNet Bridge – The government in the 2016-2021 term will maintain the structure and number of cabinet members. There will be one new candidate for the position of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

On July 27, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc submitted to the National Assembly the list of cabinet members of the new term for ratification.
On the same day, the National Assembly voted and approved the structure of government, consisting of the Prime Minister, five deputy prime ministers (one deputy PM cum minister of foreign affairs) and 21 ministers and other cabinet members.
Below is the structure of the new cabinet, submitted by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc:

Compared to the current cabinet, there is only one location expected to change - the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The candidate for this position is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong was born on October 14th 1959, a native of Dan Phuong district, Hanoi. Before being appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Cuong served as Chairman of Ha Tay Province (which was merged with Hanoi in 2008), Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Party Chief of Bac Kan Province, and Vice head of the Central Economic Committee.
There is only one female candidate, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, who is not a member of the Party Central Committee.
