On July 27, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc submitted to the National Assembly the list of cabinet members of the new term for ratification.

On the same day, the National Assembly voted and approved the structure of government, consisting of the Prime Minister, five deputy prime ministers (one deputy PM cum minister of foreign affairs) and 21 ministers and other cabinet members.

Below is the structure of the new cabinet, submitted by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc:

Five Deputy Prime Ministers: Truong Hoa Binh, Trinh Dinh Dung, Vu Duc Dam, Vuong Dinh Hue, Pham Binh Minh (who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs)

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong (A Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development) is recommended to the post of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, replacing Mr. Cao Duc Phat

Compared to the current cabinet, there is only one location expected to change - the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The candidate for this position is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong was born on October 14th 1959, a native of Dan Phuong district, Hanoi. Before being appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Cuong served as Chairman of Ha Tay Province (which was merged with Hanoi in 2008), Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Party Chief of Bac Kan Province, and Vice head of the Central Economic Committee.

There is only one female candidate, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, who is not a member of the Party Central Committee.
